27 May 2010 (night) - Fly out from KLIA to Rome.
Day 1 - 28 May 2010
Touch-down Leonardo da Vinci airport Rome early in the morning. Took a express train from airport to Roma Termini. Then walk about 15 minutes to reach the hostel - M&J Hostel. Newly renovated. Quite a nice place. It is actually about 10 minutes walk from the Termini, but since it is the first time, need some time to find the place. Could not check in until 2pm. Leave the luggage at the storage room, then went to grab breakfast, enquired about the Roma Pass at the tourist information center and then visited a few churches which are nearby to the Termini. Then it was 2pm and rushed back to the hostel to check-in and shower.
After a short rest, then went out for Part 2 of Day 1. Took a metro to Spanish Steps. It was not as pictured in the travel books and as shown in the many websites. Was slightly disappointed. Feel it was overly rated. Then walk along Via del Condotti - the high fashion street of Rome - where all the branded labels are found along this road. Went into Prada and LV to enquire about the bags my sister asked me to find out. Then walked to Trevi Fountain. Had dinner nearby. Took tons of photo. Then it's walking back to the hostel for Day 1.
Day 2 - 29 May 2010
Rome - Florence
Took a morning train from Rome to Florence, about 1hr30mins journey with Trenitalia. Stayed at this place, Hotel Perseo. Walking distance from the Central Train Station and the city center. Very friendly receptionist staff. Strongly recommended.
In Florence - visited the Academia (for the David's), Uffizi Gallery, Michaelangelo Square for sunset.

4. Grand Canal, Venice
